I have some confessions to make. First, I am fond of adventure films. They bring me immense entertainment, they broaden my perspective about life, they take me to exotic locations and they make me see the beauty of the world through the eyes of the heroic protagonist/s. In short, the adventurers in those films are living the life I wish I have. Read the rest of this entry
57 kilometers east of Manila lay one of the most underrated towns (in my opinion) that go by name of ‘Tanay’ in the province of Rizal. This picturesque municipality takes so much pride in their natural wonders, and rightfully so. The place is undoubtedly blessed with beautiful people, good food and amazing geography feats. To enumerate a few; a modest yet classic lighthouse, a historical yet enchanted cave, some religious grottos, a couple of mystical water falls, the cleanest body of water in the entire region IV and their own portion of Sierra Madre Mountain Range. If these aren’t enough reasons to entice you to visit the town, how about: Unlike some of the most famous tourists destinations in the country, Tanay would not require you to spend a small fortune (at least if you live somewhere in Manila) to have a ball in a town teeming with natural beauty as well as filled with exhilarating adventures. How about that? Read the rest of this entry
Pinto Art Museum is cool, really? That was my initial reaction when my three nieces first mentioned this art gallery in Antipolo, Rizal. To be completely honest, I got completely flustered when my girls pestered me, okay, encouraged me, into going to this apparently uber-cool art museum that everyone they know had been raving about. There’s nothing more thrilling than spontaneous adventure. It eases the burden of planning, alleviates the stress of packing provisions and it can steer you away from all the mumbo-jumbos associated to concocting a strategic game plan for a strenuous journey.
One Thursday morning, my niece and I were randomly discussing some of the coolest places on earth. Then from the recesses of her brilliant mind emerged her own list of must-see-places near the metro. It was a ‘eureka’ moment when she blurted out this Masungi Rock Formation located in Tanay, Rizal. Read the rest of this entry
Sometimes, love holds a tight grip in one’s heart it shatters into tiny million pieces. It gets broken beyond repair that even time can’t mend it. That’s the story Annie wants to share. A broken girl whose heart was ripped to shreds, but braving each day, surviving the emptiness in her life… because she has to.
Hello! How have you been doing? It’s been a while since, you know… I wrote you a letter. It seems like a lifetime ago. I did everything I could, though, to restrain myself from penning down every single emotion I kept bottled up inside me, I really did. But you’ve been a fixture on my mind lately. I shooed your memories away, wiped your image off, kept my brain occupied with important matters, but none of those things seemed to work. I never thought any of it would work through, not after I bumped into you. Read the rest of this entry
I’m not very fond of taking a trip down memory lane. I mean, I know it’s fun to look back at the good old days, when everything was simple, when technology has not yet taken control of our day-to-day existence. I’m not fond of reminiscing because it makes me miss those days so bad I want to stay in one corner of my room and bawl my eyes out for days gone by.
